A small first tattoo, no biggie. My client, Adam, wanted a phoenix tattoo but wanted a more muted color palette and wanted its head to be less pointy, if that makes sense. We did this over four sessions. Outline in one and then shading over the other three. This session we just finished up the body and head, so most of this is healed.

Reposting this one because my other pic looked really dark for some reason. I don’t know what Instagram wants these days - videos, but not too long, but also some hashtags but not too many, but also pictures but only certain kinds. I really have no idea. I’d like to just tattoo please. 😂 I enjoyed doing this one and I hope you enjoy looking at it. All of the linework is healed. Half of the color is healed. We finished the lower part of the color and the inside of the arm in the last session. I’m going to end this post with no hashtags because yolo. Are we still using yolo? K bye

This is a cover up. ✨ Insta removed the before photo but you can see it in my most recent reel✨ Before you swipe to see the before pic, I want to tell you a story. I promise it’s relevant so bear with me: I’m Jewish. My grandmother escaped Germany around 1939 and emigrated to New York through Ellis Island. My great grandparents came not long after. Before they left, they gave their dairy cow to a neighbor who was not Jewish to prevent it from being confiscated from the community by then Nazis. Many years later, my grandmother returned to her hometown for the first time and a local newspaper published an article about her. Upon returning to the US, she found a letter in her mailbox. It was from the granddaughter of the family who had received their cow. She explained that the milk from the cow had helped keep her family alive during the war when food had been scarce. She sent a check for $1,500 for the cow. I say all that to say that I believe in people, and I especially believe in the ability to change and grow. Doing this tattoo was a special experience for me and I’m proud of my client for his resolve to start a new chapter in his life. #tattoo #coverup #huntsvillealabama #redemption #love

My client came to me rightfully regretful about choices he made in prison. Now this chapter of his life is closed. As a Jew, this was a really special experience for me as well. My grandmother escaped Nazi Germany and emigrated to New York through Ellis Island. My great grandparents stayed behind to get their affairs in order. They eventually made it too.
